UNA Design Sauna is available in three models: the floating Float version, the Flat model for level ground, and the Slope version designed specifically for hillside settings. More than a Sauna – a Multifunctional Terrace & Kota Lounge

UNA Design Sauna is an entity where the sauna experience naturally extends into an immersive outdoor space. The sauna’s distinctive triangular form creates a sheltered, partially covered lounge area that serves as a natural extension for cooling down and relaxation during sauna bathing.

Under the shelter fits well, for example, a 2×2 meter jacuzzi, while still leaving room for furniture and cooling off. A fireplace can also be implemented into the terrace area, adding atmosphere throughout the year.

The covered space beneath the triangle can optionally be glazed, creating a sheltered and atmospheric small “kota lounge” style area, suitable for recovery and relaxation year-round.

The multifunctional terrace and covered lounge area make UNA Design Sauna a complete entity where sauna bathing, cooling down, and togetherness are naturally combined into one immersive sauna concept – without the need for separate buildings.

Architecture that Profits – a Superior Choice for Commercial Use

In UNA Design Sauna, architecture is not just a striking form, but a genuine economic advantage. The triangular shape and slanted rear wall reduce unnecessary heated air volume and concentrate heat on the benches, exactly where the bathers are. This is especially significant in commercial use, where the sauna may be in operation for up to 10 hours a day and the door is constantly opening. The structure enables faster heating and up to approximately 20% less heated air volume compared to a traditional box-shaped sauna.

UNA Design Sauna is built from 160 mm thick Finnish CLT solid wood, which acts as a natural heat accumulator. The structure stores heat and releases it evenly back into the sauna, ensuring that the steam remains soft and consistent throughout the entire operating day – exactly the kind of experience sauna users value and expect.

When hundreds of liters of water are thrown onto the sauna stones daily, solid wood also acts as a natural moisture buffer. It temporarily absorbs excess moisture and releases it as the sauna dries. This keeps the structures healthy and allows the sauna to dry in a controlled manner, making UNA Design Sauna a durable and long-lasting solution for demanding commercial use, year after year.

Every UNA Design Sauna is equipped with a correctly sized wood or electric stove according to the size of the space, purpose of use, and actual usage level. This ensures efficient heating and consistent steam quality even under heavy use. The right heater ensures that energy efficiency, user comfort, and the sauna experience remain in balance day after day.

The sauna’s architecture and structural solutions are designed to make daily maintenance easier. There are no hard-to-clean areas under the benches, bath water is directed in a controlled manner to the right place, and the sauna dries quickly.
